Early Life & Family
Lesley Gibb was born on 12 January 1945, in Manchester, England. She is 77 years old as of 2022. She is the daughter of Hugh Gibb (15 January 1916 – 6 March 1992) and Barbara Gibb (17 November 1920 – 12 August 2016) (née Pass). Her father was an English drummer, and bandleader, and her mother was a dance band vocalist.
Lesley Gibb’s parents got married on 27 May 1944 in Manchester. Shortly after Lesley was born, the family relocated to Scotland, and later Lesley and her parents moved back to Manchester and lived with her grandmother ( Barbara’s mother), Nora Pass, in Stretford.
Lesley’s father Hugh Gibb got a job on the Isle of Man and they had to move to its capital, Douglas. Her father played at the Douglas Bay Hotel and the Alexandra, both in Douglas. Lesley’s parents then welcomed her brother Barry Alan Crompton Gibb (Barry Gibb) on 1 September 1946.
Lesley’s father was busy with his music at various hotels in Douglas when Barry Gibb was born while her mother stayed at home taking care of the children. Lesley’s two younger brothers Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb joined the family on 22 December 1949.
On 5 March 1958, Lesley’s brother Andy Gibb was born in Stretford Memorial Hospital in Manchester. Lesley’s brother Barry Gibb became a British musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer, Andy became a singer, songwriter, and actor, Robin became a singer and songwriter and Maurice became a musician, singer, and songwriter.
Lesley’s brothers Barry, and fraternal twins Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb formed the Bee Gees in 1958. They gained international fame as the Bee Gees. The trio was especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Lesley Gibb’s Loss
Lesley Gibb lost her younger brother Andy Gibb who died on 10 March 1988, at age 30. He passed away as a result of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by years of cocaine abuse that fatally weakened his heart. After Andy passed away, his father Hugh Gibb lost interest in life.

On 6 March 1992, one day after what would have been Andy’s 34th birthday, Hugh Gibb passed away of internal bleeding, at the age of 76, after years of “heavy drinking”. Lesley’s brother Maurice Gibb died suddenly on 12 January 2003, at age 53, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida.
Maurice died due to complications of a twisted intestine, which caused him to go into cardiac arrest. His wife, children, and brothers were with him when he took his last breath. Lesley’s brother Robin Gibb died on 20 May 2012, at age 62, in London, England of liver and kidney failure from colorectal cancer.
Lesley’s mother Barbara Gibb died on August 12, 2016, in Miami, Florida United States, from natural causes. Barbara died at age of 95 years. Lesley’s daughter, Berry Gibb-Rhoads, passed away in April 2021 at her home in Las Vegas. She was found unconscious by her husband in their house but the actual cause of her death is still unknown.
